Wk03 Game Pitch Final Phase

Nightlands (working title) is a 3rd person action/adventure game with rpg elements. The game focuses on combat using a weapon called The Gauntlet, and exploration in the Nightlands. The Nightlands are a separate world from our own, and can be thought of as an underworld.

One of the key gameplay features is combat. The Gauntlet allows the hero to use magic, and as the hero uses different types of magic, the Gauntlet will materialize a different weapon (e.g. fire magic yields claws, wind magic yields a bow and arrows, forest magic yields a whip etc.) Different weapons will be needed to defeat different enemies, and explore the environment.
The Nightlands are on a different plane of existence. The environment is based on middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings and features mountains, forests, and rivers. The atmosphere is based on various underworlds from various books and video games. The environment and atmosphere mix the natural world with the supernatural world. The player will have various places to explore, and many enemies to fight.

The Story of Nightlands tells of a warrior whose wife was abducted and murdered by an evil order whose goal was to open a portal to the Nightlands in order conquer it and obtain power. The Hero journeys into the Nightlands to stop the dark order, and save the soul of his wife. His journey will take him all over the mysterious world undoing the corruption the order has brought into it, and gaining powers of his own.

  1. great researching with awesome concept artwork. your final delivery upgraded your initial ideas nicely. strong four images with consistent visual representation making them feel like they are all from the same game world. Focus on cleaner borders..seperation from text, images and end areas. Shrink stuff down so that they arent pushed up against other elements. When you are designing your images, step back into thumbnailing by looking at the composition of shapes and you will get a cleaner layout. but overall awesome job...think about taking that gem image and merging it into the gauntlet image and making them appear to be the same object.
