Pixel building

I chose to do a simple dead tree. The colors are primarily white and various shades of grey for the shadows, on a black background. Many of the levels will take place in forests so the player will see a lot of trees.

  1. I think you could have done a bit more with the shaping of this tree. As it stands, it doesnt quite look natural. i think the symmetry of it only takes away from its appeal and the triangular shape looks unnatural. your shading and color composition however look great

  2. thats fine if the tree is to be abstract looking and white in color, but the white area is too broad and needs to be broken up. you need to identify the form of the tree, usually a few cylinders intertwined within each other, and add shadows and highlights to show that. then you show add some texturing, so the tree may be white but its still a tree so you need to show off bark and wood grain that would created shadows and highlights to create it patterned form upon the larger forms of the tree.
